It's hard to believe how quickly 2018 has passed so far, let alone how quickly the years have passed since 2015 when I attended my very first Mom Conference. There was so much useful information shared that I still go back and look at the notes I took! Let me stop for a moment to clarify that I thought the things I was facing with motherhood during that period of my life were challenging. But my do things get interesting as children grow into the tweens and teen years. Add a toddler to the mix and well, I'll just say toddlers and teens go through tantrums just the same. Go figure.
One thing I know for sure, as much we have tried avoiding being totally consumed by technology in our home, our children are growing in a Digital Age. Things are different than when I was growing up. Our toddler can pick up a smartphone and swipe her way through photos and apps like it's second nature. How did we get here?! I don't know about you but it can be tough raising children in such a tech-driven society. I know plenty of parents who have proudly handed over their 9 year olds a new $600 smart phone as a birthday or Christmas gift, only to regret it later because they feel they've lost control. How do we set boundaries? What are the right consequences when those boundaries are crossed?
This is just one of the many interesting and useful topics that will be discussed at this year's Mom Conference. I can't wait to be filled with the wealth of knowledge by parenting experts, so that I can continue working on being the best mom my children need. The best part about joining me for The Mom Conference is not having to find a babysitter, or leave home because it's all happening online!
